The Future of Technology

The past decade has been a rollercoaster of ups and downs with every swing of the market caused by disruptions in science and technology. Some of the innovations came as pleasant surprises (such as with the AI bloom in 2022) and some as disastrous yet still optimistic crusades (such as with Web3).

Despite the widespread fear of the masses about losing their jobs to AI, it seems like there has been less of a destruction of jobs and more of a transition of the job market towards how to use AI in order to thrive and grow your business or achieve greater success in your current job. I myself enjoy a chat with GPT (we're cool like that) over my morning coffee about whatever I desire. In other occassions my AI friend assists in content generation and even code suggestion (as I still have to proof-read the brilliant code it produces) and it makes my work a little less tedious every day. Even though AI can be really helpful at times, I still enjoy writing my own content enough to have it all to myself (sorry GPT).

My first deep dive into Web3 started with a fascination with the philosophy and technology used in the evolving internet as a system to connect people, goods, and services through digital means. Specifically, the advancements in distributed ledger technology caught my interest as I began to imagine a world that didn't rely on inflationary and arbitrary currencies which are inherently fraudulent. I started reading CoinGecko's "How to DeFi" series which really helped grasp the complexity and depth of the protocols holding up the foundations of what we call the "Metaverse". I'm still hopeful about the future of this technology, as it is still in its youth. I believe that once it overcomes its deficiencies it may hold the key to a bountiful future for all who embrace it.

There are many other SciFi tech I am looking forward to enjoying, such as AR/VR and Quantum Computing, but that is a post for another time...
